Are You Paying For Your Lawyers BillBoard Ads?

As I drive around Phoenix, I see lots of billboards featuring local law firms. There are some of the same firms I see on buses and on TV and if I read the Yellow Pages, I am sure they would be the same ones on the back covers or with the two full page ads in the lawyer section.

If you needed a lawyer, would you contact one of these firms, or would you think you are paying for all of their expensive ads? I know that most people would prefer a personal referral, but of course if they are getting a divorce or filing bankruptcy, they might not want to let others in on that.  Many people turn to Google when they need a lawyer, but again it is hard to tell just who to trust, right?

One recommendation that has served me well over the past decade is having a legal services plan from Legal Shield. With this plan, it allows me to call a lawyer whenever I need one to ask a question, have them write letters on my behalf (and I have), or even show up to traffic court with me. It is not only affordable but it has saved me literally thousands of dollars. I urge you to check out Legal Shield just to see if you see how much sense it makes for you. They have both personal and business plans which for me has been an even bigger win.  It’s kind of like insurance “it’s better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it”.  And they don’t use billboards either :-)
